Book Brief and Giveaway! The Broken Girls
I loved, loved, The Broken Girls by Simone St. James .  Like any good ghost story, the secrets are slowly revealed.  So, I wont say too much.
Through the years, girls in an all-girl boarding school pass messages via the textbook margins about a ghost named Mary Hand.
One example:
Mary Hand, Mary Hand, dead and buried under land. Â She’ll say she wants to be your friend. Â Do not let her in again!
As the story progresses we learn more. Â The novel skips from the present to the past seamlessly. Â It is rich with story, characters, eloquence and suspense.
The publisher, Berkley, has generously offered a free copy of The Broken Girls by Simone St. James via a giveaway (entry form is below) .
The Broken Girls would make a great movie!

What Others Are Saying
THE BROKEN GIRLS was an amazing book, combining many elements I love: mystery, ghost story, historical fiction, dual time periods, and crime drama. I loved it – yes, it was dark and unsettling, but I was glued to the pages. – Diane @ Book of Secrets
While it’s true that I am not a huge fan of pure ghost stories, I do like them when they are blended with a such a compelling tale as this one was. And what a story this one turned out to be – I mean it is chock full of secrets, there is this amazing thread running through that brings the past to the present, and the ghost story has just enough of a role throughout to give a creep factor without overplaying it’s hand – it enhances and adds to the tension without becoming too much. –Â Kristin @ Always With a Book
So, this book is a little spooky, a little historical, a little mysterious. – Kay @ Kay’s Reading Life
Mix a little paranormal woo-woo with a murder-mystery and you’ll hook me. The Broken Girls by Simone St. James did just that.  – Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Sounds very spooky and sinister but full of mystery and obviously very well written.
